Gilgit-Baltistan Mela showcases region’s traditional food, culture

A large number of people visited stalls.

A two-day Mela in connection with Independence Day of Gilgit-Baltistan concluded in Islamabad today.

The event was organized by Lok Virsa in collaboration with Gilgit Baltistan Tourism Department.

Stalls of traditional Gilgit Baltistan clothings, artifacts and traditional food were set up in the Mela.

A traditional musical program was also arranged on second day of the Mela and artists from various districts of Gilgit Baltistan performed.

A large number of people visited the stalls and appreciated the government for arrangement of such Mela. AFP
