Karachi, May 9, 2014: Former President of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce-USA (PCC-USA) and member of advisory committee of Pakistan Tehrike Insaf (PTI) Abdul Quayyum Khan Kundi issued a statement in response to terror incidents in Karachi and Taftan. He said that it is the responsibility of the government to hold security officials accountable for their inability to discharge their duties. He said that the continued terror incidents shows the total failure of counter-terrorism intelligence and law enforcement agencies to apprehend terrorists. He said that terrorism cannot be eradicated without a partnership between citizens and security apparatus. Citizens becomes the eyes and ears for the intelligence. He said that a relationship of trust must be developed between intelligence and citizens at large. He prayed for the souls of those that lost their lives in Karachi and Taftan. He requested the government to ensure that families of martyred law enforcement officers should be taken care off.
