Development Projects In Power Sector To Be Completed Timely: Chief Secretary Gilgit Baltistan Dr Kazim Niaz
GILGIT, (online) Chief Secretary Gilgit Baltistan Dr Kazim Niaz has directed Water and Power department to complete all on-going development projects within scheduled time frame.
Talking in a meeting wherein officials of the water and power department briefed the chief secretary about all development schemes underway in Gilgit Baltistan, saying these schemes would be timely completed.
The chief secretary directed to minimize cost overrun of those development projects through an effective monitoring regime and ensure quality work.
He said efforts should be expedited for collecting power revenues to meet the set goals, in case of failure, the chief secretary added disciplinary action would be taken against the responsible officers.
He said that electricity situation should be improved within a week and a performance report should be furnished to the chief secretary office on daily basis. Expressing dismay over pace of work on 18 Megawatt Hydel satiations Gilgit and 17 Megawatt Hydel Station Sidra( Wapda Power Houses) Skardu, he directed the concerned officials to complete repair work on those schemes and commence in power supply in 10 days.
The chief secretary directed for early completion of two megawatt hydel project Hassanabad and 0.5 Megawatt hydel project Mamoon. Exn Hunza was also directed for improving power situation and ensure smooth power supply to citizen.
