Pakistani traders to participate in China-South Asia Expo in Kunming, Yunnan province
BEIJING, March 4 : Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Masood Khalid has said that a large number of Pakistani traders will participate in the annual Kunming fair to be held in June this year, state news agency APP reported.
The Ambassador Masood Khalid expressed these views here while addressing the promotional meeting of the 2nd China-South Asia Exposition and 22nd China Kunming Imports and Exports Fair to be held in Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan province from June 4-10.
Ambassador Khalid said that he had the opportunity to attend the last year exhibition in Kunming and the large number of participation was the testament of its success.
This year, he said the Yunnan government together with Ministry of Commerce and other relevant offices made even more efforts to provide maximum facilitation to the participating countries and traders.
This year, the Ambassador said we are trying to encourage our private sector for more participation to show case their products in the fair.
He hoped that the organizers of the two events will provide maximum space for Pakistani exhibitors for setting up their booths.
The Ambassador said that last year saw hectic bilateral activities from Pakistan and China. Premier Li Keqiang and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited each other country on official visits and took important decisions.
These bilateral visits illustrated the depth of our all weather and time tested friendship, he noted.
At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, President Mamnoon Hussain visited China from February 18-21.
During President’s Hussain visit “both sides took important decisions to develop Pakistan-China Economic Corridor”, he noted.
Earlier, Governor Li Jicheng said that the population of 46 million people of his province are waiting to welcome their guests in the upcoming two events.
Last year, as many as 40,000 visitors visited these exhibitions and this year we expect more participation.
The Governor said that Yunnan is an important gateway for China’s reform and opening up policy.
To improve our working, he said that in 2014 we plan for promoting E-commerce.
The Vice-Governor Gao Shuxun also spoke on the occasion.
Ambassadors and diplomats from the South Asian countries also spoke on the occasion and extended their full support for the success of the exhibitions.
