QAU Convocation 2013, Naila Ahmed of GB receives medal from VC.
Islamabad: More than 2600 students crossed the stage to receive their degrees at the 6th convocation of Islamabad’s Quaid-e-Azam University on Tuesday. President of Pakistan and VC of the University, Mamnoon Hussain was the chief guest to hand over degrees to the students. Students, parents, University faculty, Deans and the Vice Chancellor of the University witnessed the degree awarding ceremony.
Around 2600 students of Masters, M Phil and PhD were conferred degrees on the occasion. Mamnoon Hussain, the Chief Guest, congratulated the successful students and admired their handwork in crossing the important academic milestone. He urged the students to utilize their education and skills for a prosperous and forward-looking country.
Different medals were awarded to the high-achievers of the academic year. Naila Ahmed, a student from Gilgit-Baltistan got Vice Chancellor’s medal for standing first in all the four semesters of her master’s degree in Geo-Physics.
Naila was excited and proud on her academic achievement. “It was a memorable day for me and I was overjoyed seeing the VC stepping in to congratulate my parents,” Naila said. She said that it was her dedication to make GB proud through academic excellence and the dream came true. She vowed to work for Gilgit-Baltistan with great perseverance. Naila has completed her intermediate education from Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Hunza.
