Al-Quds day observed in Gilgit

Gilgit, July 26 (Sost Today): In order to condemn Israel’s assault on innocent citizen Palestine, Muslims communities and human right activist are staging protests throughout the world.
Likewise a protest in solidarity with victims of Palestine staged near Jama Imamia Masjid here in Gilgit on Friday. Muslims communities throughout the world celebrate the last Friday of Holy Ramadan as “Al-Quds freedom” day.
In 1979, Imam Khomeini, a former Iranian religious leader, designated the last Friday of the lunar fasting month of Ramadan as International Quds Day, during which Muslims across the world hold rallies in solidarity with Palestinians.. Including Pakistan people from different countries stage sit in protests, demonstrations and rallies against Israel’s illegal dwell in Gaza. During protest people were chanting slogans” down with USA” “down with Israel” and they were waving play cards to show sympathy with the people Palestine.
The protesters emphasized that Muslim world should come in a single platform the condemn the Israel for their barbaric activates in Gaza.
Prayers were offered for the people who died in the attack.
This year’s anti-Israel rallies are being held as Israeli warplanes and tanks have been pounding numerous sites inside the Gaza Strip and killing innocent residents of the impoverished Palestinian enclave over the past 18 days.
More than 816 Palestinians have so far been killed and over 5,200 wounded since the Israeli military first launched its onslaught on the Palestinian enclave on July 8.
The protesters were of the view that they will continue celebrating last Friday of Holy Ramadan till the freedom of Gaza.
