Chief Election Commissioner of Gilgit Baltistan should be appointed with consensus
Gilgit, March 14, 2014: The Assembly passed a unanimous resolution suggesting that the Chief Election Commissioner of Gilgit Baltistan should be appointed after consultation with the Leader of House and Leader of the Opposition of legislative Assembly. The resolution was tabled by Wazir Hasan.
In another resolution‚ the House demanded that the upcoming general elections should be held after completion of five years tenure of the present Assembly.
The resolution presented in the House by Member Muhammad Ayub Shah was approved by all members except one member‚ who opposed it.
Health Minister Haji Gulber Khan presented Health Welfare Fund bill in the House.
The Deputy Speaker referred the bill to law reform committee of the House for review and directed to present it in the next session.
Replying to a question‚ Advisor Tourism Sadia Danish informed the House that under a project‚ efforts are under way for the preservation of archaeological sites in Gilgit Baltistan.
Responding to another question‚ she said Gilgit Baltistan information cell is being strengthened.
Minister Education Dr Ali Madad Sher told the House that a case regarding creation of more than 1500 jobs in the next budget has been sent for approval.
