Drinking Water: SRSP Completes 16 wells of drinking water in Chitral

Chitral, July 2: Sarhad Rural Support Program (SRSP) completed some 16 dug well of potable drinking water in different area of Chitral town. These water (dug) well were completed in Panjkoti, Hone, Shyaqotak, Moldeh, DHQ Hospital, Balach, Faizabad, Singor Chitral Airport etc. for provision of potable clean and cold drinking water.
One dug well was also completed at Orghuch village whose residents were badly suffering from shortage of drinking water.
Tariq Ahmad district program Manager of SRSP while talking to Chitral Union of Journalists said that some 5 million were spent on these dug well. These dug well were constructed under Program for Economic Advancement & Community Empowerment (PEACE) funded by European Union.
Chief Executive officer of SRSP Shahzada Masoodul Mulk took keen interest in construction of these dug well because during flood and natural calamity people of town area facing great difficulties due to lack of drinking water. As women folk were compelled to bring water in pitches on their head from far flung areas.
A local beneficiary from this dug well said that there was great shortage of drinking water and now women folk of the area also carrying drinking water at night time. A large number of people were seen standing in line in front of these dug well to get drinking water in buckets and water cooler. During the month of Ramazan youth were seen who setting on the bank of these dug wells cooling their selves by cold water.
Social and political circle of Chitral thanked Shahzada Masoodul Mulk CEO of SRSP for constructing of these dug well which provide clean and cold drinking water to inhabitants of the area.
Cool and clean water of these dug wells are being used by human and cattle of the area.
