An Enlightened Leader of Hunza Gojal, Mirza Hassan died of sudden cardiac arrest

Moorkhun Gojal (Sost Today): Mirza Hassan 57 died of cardiac arrest on Tuesday night. According to his family source, he was rushed to Aga Khan Health Center Sost, soon after he felt a stiff pain in his chest, where he took his last breath.
His funeral prayer held at Moorkhun village of Gojal Hunza and was laid to rest in his native Cemetery on Wednesday.
Mirza Hassan was celebrated for his visionary leadership. He was one of the few well versed educated figures of his time. Under the leadership of Mirza Hassan the community made many social and economic feats, those include the establishment of Khunjerav Villager organization in 1989, Pak China Sost Dry Port in 2001, Gojal Rural Support Organization, Moorkhun Social Welfare Development Organization and was among the founding members Town Management Society Sost TMS.
He served Silk Route Dry Port Trust as vice Chairman, Chairman Khunjerav Villager Organization and Chairman of GRSO.
Hassan devoted many years of his life for the Ismaili Council Hunza. He served as President Ismaili Council Gojal Bala, member Regional Ismaili Council Hunza, coordinator Aga Khan Economic Planning Board and in many other different capacities.
He concluded his higher education in Karachi, where he also started his professional career.
He earned two Post Graduate Diplomas from GIMS Karachi in Management and Personal Administration and Marketing Sales Promotion and Advertisement. Hassan did masters of Philosophy from University of Karachi.
Hassan started his professional career from Pakistan Steel Mills, where he worked as Assistant manager planning cell. After that he has worked with diverse national and multinational corporations in different countries. He was one of the pioneers, who introduced marble and granite industry in Gilgit Baltistan.
Beside all his extraordinary social contributions and professional achievements, Mirza Hassan was a loving father, an astuteness monitor for young generation.
Hassan left behind five children and a widow.
