Gilgit-Baltistan assembly for redressal of SAP schools issues
Gilgit, May 03:The second-day proceeding of 35th session of Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly resumed in Gilgit yesterday on Friday May 02 .
Speaker Wazir Baig presided over the session.
Talking on a point of order, Fida Muhammad Nashad informed the House that 757 Social Action Plan Schools with 1,463 teaching staff are imparting education to 55,000 students in seven districts of Gilgit-Baltistan.
He said the overall result of SAP schools is over 70 per cent. He demanded to induct teachers of SAP schools in Government education department on merit basis. He also demanded payment of outstanding salaries of teachers.
Members who took part in the debate recommended the government to address the SAP schools issue on priority basis.
Later, speaker adjourned the proceedings till Monday morning.
