Govt maintains subsidy on wheat retail prices in Gilgit Baltistan says Momin
Gilgit, April 05 (Sost Today): Director Food Department Gilgit-Baltistan Momin Jan has said that Government has maintained subsidy on wheat retail prices.
Talking to media persons in Gilgit, he said one hundred kilogram wheat bag is now available for fourteen hundred rupees instead of sixteen hundred and fifty rupees. The new rate has been fixed by provincial Government.
Referring to wheat supply, he said fifteen hundred bags wheat are being transported to Gilgit daily and efforts are underway to address public complaints about its shortage at any place in the region.
He said wheat is being supplied from sales point set up in all districts to ensure it transparent distribution.
Replying to a question, he said wheat rate has not increased since 2004 in Gilgit-Baltistan and Provincial Government has borrowed fourteen billion rupees up to 2011 from PASCO.
