Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan, Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman here Thursday said the government would take strict disciplinary action against all those elements, who are intentionally delaying developmental projects in the province.

The Chief Minister said scores of developmental projects were launched in Diamir district and reiterated that unnecessary delay in completion of ongoing development projects in Diamir will not be tolerated and strict action would be taken against all those elements on willfully delay.
Presiding over a high-level meeting regarding categorization of hospitals and progress on ongoing health projects, the Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure its proper monitoring and completion on time without compromising on quality.
The Chief Minister expressed anguish on officers of concerned department over slow pace of work on health projects at Chalas and ordered for 100 bed female block hospital at Chalas and issuing of revised administrative approval of the said projects.
The CM directed preparation of work plan of the developmental projects and ensure its strict implementation. He directed officers of Communication Department Diamir for completing of the tendering process of Trauma Centre at Chalas and initiation of speedy work by using latest method to ensure its speedy completion.
While issuing directives for hospitals’ categorization for provision of quick and better medical services to people and just distribution of resources in health sector, the Chief Minister said general hospitals status would be given to DHQs Hospitals Chalas, Skardu and City Hospital Gilgit while DHQ Hospital Gilgit would be declared as Capital Hospital.
He directed Secretary Health to complete papers work in this regard within two weeks so that administrative changes could be made in the concerned hospitals besides ensuring provision of resources to it on merit for better service delivery.
Hafeez said all out efforts are being made for development of health sector besides provision of latest machinery and diagnosing labs to hospitals. The CM said shortage of doctors has been addressed by filling vacant seats and numbers of doctors in all public sectors hospitals were increased.
