Inception workshop on (PTC) Parents Teachers Council Education project held.

CHITRAL: Inception workshop on PTC (parent’s teacher’s council) of education project held in a local hotel. Workshop was organized by Sarhad Rural Support Program (SRSP) to strengthen PTC performance working in different government schools of Chitral for improving and assuring of quality education.
Addressing on the occasion Rahmat Ayubi project Manager said that some 819 PTCs working in Chitral and our trainers will arrange 4 days training for members of all PTCs in field at different parts of Chitral. District Program Manager Tariq Ahmad briefed the stakeholders about aim and objectives of SRSP in his presentation. He said that SRSP working in different sectors like rehabilitation, social sectors, education, health and micro entrepreneur. They involved local community in each project for its sustainability and succession. As well as they also working in micro hydro power house to overcome on energy crises. As well as they constructed 10 community based schools for increasing literacy ratio in Chital. Besides it they construct extra class rooms and toilets in 18 Govt schools where there they were required.
In women empowerment they trained 425 women in different skills who were enabled to gain their livelihood.
Assistant district education officer Ihsanul Haq said that each PTC having 7 members 4 from parents and 3 technical staff. He said that this is responsibility of each PTC to check school fund, attendance of teachers and to assure for giving best education to their children.
Salahuddin Saleh emphasized on parents for frequently visiting of schools to ascertain progress of their children as well as to ensure about teachers attendance and their teaching. A question answer session was also held during the workshop who were responded by educationists.
The workshop was attended by a large of teachers, heads of line departments and people belonging to different walks.
