International symposium on Sustainable Development and Wakhi Community in Pakistan held in Gojal valley of Hunza

Passu Gojal: Three-day conference “International symposium on Sustainable Development and Wakhi Community in Pakistan” ended at Passu village in Gojal valley of Hunza on Sunday.
“International symposium on Sustainable Development and Wakhi Community in Pakistan” aimed to provide opportunity and platform for the Wakhi researchers, Writers, Bloggers and other linguistic activists to share their work. This conference was first of its kind. The participants presented research papers, books and poetry.
Foreign delegates of different countries including Germany, Japan, Trukey, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan reached Passu village on Friday, 28 August to participate in the three-day international symposium on Sustainable Development and Wakhi Community in Pakistan. This is the first ever conference held in Wakhi history.
Dr. Prof. Kazuo Mizushima Japan, Prof. Dr. Hermann Krueutzmann Germany, Stephen F. Rasmussen Ex. GM AKRSP and Specialist of World Bank were the Keynote speakers of today’s event.
Other researchers and Wakhi culture & language activists from Tajikistan, and Afghanistan shared their work and experiences with participants of international symposium.
Prof. Dr. Hermann Krueutzmann 10 year’s hard working and struggle complete his book with the title of “Pamirian Cross Road” will be launch within two months.
This symposium sponsored by Nihon University Tokyo Japan.
Renouned Wakhi poets Mr.Ali Qurban, Nazir Ahmed Bulbul and Saif Uddin Saif energized the audience with their poetries. Mr. Ali Qurban said researchers and poets are using variable scripting for their work. He emphasized the forum to work on the standardized Wakhi script.
Al Waiz Aslam, Qazzi Muhammad, Ali Qurban, Shaid Akhter , Aman Ullah Khan , Ahmed Karim , Al Waiz Nasir Karim, Muzafar Shimshali , Aman Ullah Sak, Fazal Amin Baig , Haider Murad , Murad Shah , Fazal Rehman Shireen Saddo , Ismatullah Mushfiq and Zaffer Iqbal were among the notable participants representing Gojal in the conference.
Dr. David Butz and Dr. Nacy Cook presented a research paper “ Using auto photography to understand significance of the Shimshal road for everyday life” .
Mr. Atoshi Nishkori presented “Education experience in Passu village Pakistan”. Mr. Odina Mummad Mirozyev presented his work titled “Education as agent of change in Wakhi community of Tajikistan: A historical prospect.’ And Mr. Nabat “A perspective of Gender and education in Wakhi area”.
Mr. Azam Baig highlighted the contribution linguists and social activists for Wakhi language form Gojal.
