NDMA distributes 71,755 tents, 4,170.93 ration packs among flood hit people

ISLAMABAD: A total of 71,755 tents and 4,170.93 tons ration have been distributed among flood hit people by National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Armed Forces and Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs).
According to spokesman of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), a total of 580 tents have so far been distributed among the flood hit people of Gilgit-Baltistan, 3,000 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), 24,159 in Sindh, 37,800 in Punjab, 3,614 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 82 tents in Balochistan.
As many as 4,170.93 tons ration packets have been distributed among flood hit people including 22.5 tons in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), 3,138 tons in Punjab, 385.53 tons in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 8.4 tons in Balochistan.
The statistics show that 17,404 people are residing in 394 Punjab Relief Camps, 95,566 in 349 Sindh camps. Six relief camps have also been established in Gigit-Baltistan.
A total of 112,970 people were being provided basic amenities of life in 757 relief camps established in the flood-hit areas as 150 medical camps are working in flood hit areas of Punjab for providing medical aid to marooned people.
As many as 8,913 blankets have also been distributed among flood hit people including 3200 among affectees of GB, 2,000 in AJK, 3,260 in KPK, 453 in Balochistan.
The relief providing agencies have been provided 649 rescue boats at their disposal including 563 in Sindh and 48 in Punjab. In addition, 1,186 life jackets are available with 1,100 in Punjab and 86 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A total of 803,271 people have been evacuated from flood hit areas including 1,736 from GB, 583,095 from Sindh, 154,140 from Punjab and Armed forces have evacuated 64,299 marooned people from flood hit areas. APP
