[Opportunity] Young Community Leadership Development Program YCLDP 2014
The Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP) has announce the 3rd round of Young Community Leadership Development Program (YCLDP), under the Enhancing Employability and Leadership for Youth (EELY) project, funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD) and the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) Canada.
The training will focus on Training of Youth Facilitators at community levels in social mobilization and participatory development.
Objectives of the Program
The objective of YCLDP is to develop a cadre of young graduates as trainers, mentors and facilitators at district level. Secondly, to equip, polish and groom young activists of Local Support Organizations (LSOs) with the essential skills for effective leadership playing role as social entrepreneurs and agents of change in community development.
Training Themes and Duration
The young community leaders will be provided with the opportunity for class room learning on following development themes by development practitioners from AKRSP and subject specialist from the Institute of Rural Management (IRM):
Participatory Development and Social Mobilization 7 days
Generic Training of Trainers 3 days
Application Deadline: July 31, 2014
Commencement of the Training: August 12 – 22, 2014
Training Venue: Gilgit and Baltistan (specific venue will be communicated to shortlisted candidates later).
Application form and announcement has been made available through open advertisement on www.gbcyouth.org.pk and www.lson.org.pk. Besides, in Gilgit and Baltistan regions, AKRSP regional and area offices will identify the LSOs and in each region, and the respective Institutional Development (ID) officers will serve as focal persons for coordinating with LSOs and the youth.
In Diamer district, Diamer Poverty Alleviation Programme (DPAP) will carry out the process and make the forms and guidelines available.
The interested youth, LSOs and DPAP are requested to ensure submission of complete nomination forms from LSOs and CSOs not later than July 31, 2014.
