PML-Q, MWM reject care taker govt, election commission in GB
ISLAMABAD/LAHORE – A high-level delegation of Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) called on Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) President Ch Shujat Hussain and former deputy prime minister Ch Parvez Elahi at their residence in Islamabad on Saturday.
During the meeting detailed discussion was held regarding next general elections in Gilgit-Baltistan and to form new electoral alliance in a very pleasant atmosphere. Majlis delegation included Political Wing chief Syed Nasir Abbas Sheerazi and core committee members Asad Abbas Naqvi and Muhammad Ali.
Shujat said that parties having similar thinking about the problems of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan and for progress and development of this area will have to launch joint struggle and as such other parties will also be contacted in this regard. Leaders of both the parties rejected the present Election Commission and caretaker Cabinet of Gilgit-Baltistan and termed them as beginning of pre-poll rigging.
They said that this would not be accepted at all. They also deliberated over launching of mass movement against it. During the meeting, PML-Q Senior Vice-President Muhammad Basharat Raja, Provincial Chief Mirza Hussain and Vice-President Women Wing Amna Ansari were also present.
