PTI wants GB declared a province

GILGIT: The central leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has called upon the government to declare Gilgit-Baltistan a constitutional province of the country and threatened that construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will not be allowed in the region if their demand is not accepted.
The PTI leaders at a convention held on Saturday announced that party members in the National Assembly would register their protest in the parliament about “injustices” being done by the PML-N government to the people of GB. Ghulam Sarwar Khan, MNA and PTI’s convener for Gilgit-Baltistan, and Syed Zulqarnain Shah attended the convention.
Mr Khan said that CPEC was being built in the area but the government had ignored the rights of local people while making plans about the project.
