Sino Pak border, closed due to heavy snowfall, reopened
The Pakistan-China border has been reopened for business and trade which was closed due to heavy snowfall.
The FWO has removed all the snow from the road and opened it for all types of traffic.
The volume of trade with China will increase with the progression of activities followed by trade through China Pakistan Economic Corridor project.
To gain more benefits, the federal government has directed the provinces to establish special security units to look after the trade with China through Gilgit-Baltistan.
China and Pakistan share the oldest trade route known as ‘Silk Route’ which gives way to import cloth, sugar, rice, toys, commercial and technical goods, cars and machinery. Pakistan also facilitates imports from Central Asian countries through Pakistan.
The trade route benefits customs collectorates to receive important part of revenue from the border with China by letting customs’ duties on goods and traffic. via Customtoday
